Claire Coutinho appointed Shadow Energy Secretary

Claire Coutinho, previously serving as Secretary for Energy Security and Net Zero, has been appointed as the Shadow Energy Secretary

In a recent development within the Conservative Party‘s shadow cabinet, Claire Coutinho has been appointed as the Shadow Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero.

This appointment comes as part of interim shadow ministerial team arrangements orchestrated by former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, ahead of the upcoming leadership contest within the opposition party.

Ms Coutinho, who previously served as the Parliamentary Under-Secretary at the Department for Education and later at the Department for Work and Pensions, now assumes the crucial role of shadowing Ed Miliband.

Ed Miliband, recently appointed as the UK’s Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, replaced Ms Coutinho following the Labour Party‘s victory in the 4th July general election.
