Nesta and the University of the Arts London (UAL) have announced the winners of a heat pump design challenge, a competition aimed at reimagining the future of heat pumps through creative and innovative approaches.

Five students and recent graduates from UAL were recognised for their work, each receiving a £500 cash prize.

The winning entries explored heat pumps from various perspectives, incorporating design, media, and lifestyle elements.

Concepts included using advertising to raise awareness of heat pumps, redesigning the appearance of outdoor units, integrating heat pumps with gardening, and even creating a card game that explores their role in reducing carbon emissions.
