Cadent launches £2m fuel poverty fund

The Cadent Foundation has announced a £2 million 'emergency' Support Fund to support vulnerable households struggling with fuel costs this winter

The Cadent Foundation has set up a £2 million ’emergency’ Support Fund to help those struggling with fuel costs during the winter months.

This move comes as the cost of living crisis continues, with recent data showing that nearly 60% of UK adults are more concerned about their energy bills compared to last year.

The fund will provide essential energy and food support to people facing financial difficulties.

The Winter Support Fund will be available to charity partners already working with vulnerable communities.

The goal is to give charities, including Citizens Advice and Groundwork fast access to additional resources, enabling them to provide immediate assistance.

This is the second year the Cadent Foundation has introduced the fund, in response to ongoing challenges such as rising energy prices and changes to the Winter Fuel Allowance for pensioners.
