egg, Mercia and UWR unite to showcase clean energy innovation in motorsport

Motor racing is about to get a bit cleaner thanks to a clean energy company.

Energy firm egg has joined forces with Mercia Group Services and the University of Wolverhampton Racing (UWR), to drive sustainability in motorsport.

The partnership which launches today at the NEC Birmingham will show case UWR’s Revolution Prototype and Morgan Plus Four race cars.

“Motorsport is the perfect platform to showcase the transformative potential of clean energy innovation – egg’s and Mercia Groups’ partnership with UWR isn’t just about supporting a racing team—it’s about inspiring meaningful change and proving that sustainability, clean energy and high-performance can co-exist seamlessly,” said Mike Hallam, CEO of egg.

UWR, known for integrating eco-friendly materials like flax and developing carbon capture technologies, is a pioneer in sustainable motorsport. Combined with egg’s clean energy expertise, this collaboration is out to inspire future engineers to champion a greener future.
