Londoners will get cheaper public charging for their EVs in two boroughs.
Charge point operator Believ has cut its charging rates in Wandsworth and Waltham Forest, saving drivers up to 15p/kWh.
The move is designed to encourage the use of area’s public charging network and promote the benefits of switching to EVs.
This new 48p/kWh rate equates to a 15p/mile cost, (5p/mile cheaper than running a petrol car), therefore hoping to encourage more to transition to a BEV.
Making the rate cut Guy Bartlett, Believ CEO said : “As well as encouraging the use of public charging network, this price reduction is designed to help drivers make the switch.
“We also know that price is one of many important factors drivers take into account when using EV charging networks. It is also essential that charge points are reliable and easy to use – and we’re delighted to be working with Wandsworth and Waltham Forest to install a charging network that meets these needs.”
