Moto Hospitality has partnered with Geo Green Power to install solar panels at 13 motorway service stations across the UK, generating an estimated 1.24MWh annually.
The £1.1m project aims to advance Moto’s green agenda and reduce carbon emissions by 258 tonnes per year.
Solar installations include key locations like Rugby, Wetherby and Winchester North, with Rugby housing the largest 402kWp system.
Moto is also boosting EV charging infrastructure, now exceeding 1,000 stations nationwide. Geo Green Power will provide a 5-year maintenance contract for the systems.
Jess Lockwood, Property Director at Moto Hospitality, said: “At Moto, we recognise the critical role we play in driving the UK towards a more environmentally friendly and net zero future. A key element of this is helping the motorway network embrace green energy and renewable solutions.
“We’re excited to see the positive impact these systems will have and have already started expanding them to more of our locations starting with Exeter and Sawtry.”
