Emma Pinchbeck will step down as Chief Executive Officer of Energy UK next month to take up the position of chief executive at the Climate Change Committee.
She will begin her new role on 11th November 2024.
Dhara Vyas, Energy UK’s deputy CEO, will serve as interim chief executive during any gap between her departure and the appointment of a new CEO.
Ms Pinchbeck joined Energy UK as CEO in January 2020 and has led the trade association through a period of major challenges, including the Covid-19 pandemic and the gas price crisis.
Emma Pinchbeck has worked with six different Secretaries of State during a time when energy moved to the forefront of both the news and political agendas.
This period saw successive governments setting new goals for clean energy expansion.
During her time at Energy UK, the organisation’s membership grew and it played a key role in representing the industry through various challenges.
Emma Pinchbeck said: “Energy has moved from the fringes to the very centre of economic policy and I hope that I have played my part in making sure that the importance of our sector and of the energy transition is clear to government.”
